Dermaplane Details
What is the difference between dermaplaning and shaving? Razors are designed for hair removal. They have a protective guard that allows them to cut the hair at the level of the skin. Dermaplaning employs the use of a specialized tool that is used to exfoliate the skin. Removing the hair is an added benefit.
Is using a scalpel dangerous? To perform the dermaplaning treatment we are going to use a custom dermaplaning blade to gently bump the dead skin cells off of the face with feather light strokes. It will feel similar to scraping a credit card across your skin.
Will my hair grow back thicker or darker? No, absolutely not. There are two types of hair on the body, vellus hair and terminal hair. Terminal hair grows because of the influence of hormones. That is why men have beards. The type of hair that grows on a woman’s face is vellus hair and it is fine and wispy. After dermaplaning the hair will grow back with a blunt edge, which may be noticeable because it is a new sensation, but it will not grow back thicker or darker than it was prior to having a dermaplaning treatment.
Is dermaplaning right for me? Yes!! Every skin type can benefit from dermaplaning except for people who have active acne. The results are immediate and your skin will be smooth and glowing. Your skin care products will absorb better, unwanted peach fuzz will be removed and your makeup application will be flawless.
