FACE it... life can be stressful. Especially during times like we are living in right now. There are so many unknowns that our stress levels might be at an all-time high. However, while stress is normal, and everyone experiences it, chronic stress can have a lasting effect on your mental and physical health. It can take a toll on our bodies and mind. You might feel emotional, have a hard time focusing, feel anxious, or even withdraw mentally as the brain “overheats” and copes by turning off for a moment. This all means that we are flooded. 'Flooding' is this extremely uncomfortable feeling of being overwhelmed mentally and emotionally (super stressed). So, when feeling stressed the best step we can take for ourselves is to pause and recognize these 'flooded' feelings and take these 10 steps to help reduce these feelings: Don't respond. Walk away. When feeling flooded, it's easy to "snap" response instead of really taking time to formulate an answer.
This Monday we will talk about boundaries. I hope to see you there. FACE'ing it... Dr Eris Founder of FACE it...
